Hi, so I have a 2019 crosstrek and today I was trying to get in and my key wasn't working with the buttons. I put the key in manually and it opened but then a flashing red light with a car and lock on it started flashing. When I tried to start the car all the lights on the dash started flashing and the car wouldn't turn on.The solution: While lift gate was pushed to the down position (but wouldn't lock). I gripped the power-opening latch over the license plate and held it for 5-10 seconds. It beeped during that time. I then touched it again briefly as i would normally do to open the hatch. Voila -- the motor engaged and it opened.When you pull the door panel off, you have the two cables. One the lock, the other the door handle. Make sure they are fully seated/snapped into the bracket holding them and the ball end is in the socket.
